The islands, consisting of San Juan Island, Orcas Island, and Lopez Island, vary in landscapes from the flat trails of Lopez Island - ideal for cycling - to the mountains of Orcas Island, which are a hiker’s dream.

Between March and October is the best time to visit the San Juan Islands. Peak season is during the warmest months of July and August.
