Travelling north, you’ll find the Imperial city of Meknes situated on the Boufekrane river. The historic city is a UNESCO world heritage site and possesses many interesting features such as the beautiful monumental Bab Mansour gate which served as a ceremonial entrance to the royal citadel. Meknes provides an ideal base for exploring the nearby Roman ruins at the archaeological site of Volubilis.
